Fortunately for you, if you stay at Kemp’s Kamp you’re literally steps away from exciting hikes to places like Mt. In short, you’re going to want to pack hiking shoes and a water bottle!

Offering nearly 6,000 miles worth of prime mountain biking trails, the Black Hills are a bicyclist’s dream destination. From mountain tops to deep canyons, bicyclists can expect to see it all as they explore the backcountry of the Black Hills. Perhaps the most exciting draw for bicyclists is the 109 mile long Mickelson Trail, which just so happens to through the nearby town of Hill City. From Edgemont to Deadwood, the Mickelson Trail draws countless numbers of bikers looking to embark on the Tour de Black Hills!

Swimming & Fishing

At popular lakes like Horse Thief Lake, Pactola, Sheridan Lake, Sylvan Lake, Roubaix, and Stockade, you’ll enjoy fun fishing surrounded by beautiful pine trees, blue skies and the best swimming in the Black Hills (second only to swimming at the Kemp’s Kamp Swimming Pool). At popular lakes like Pactola Lake and Sylvan Lake, you’ll find sandy beaches to catch some rays in the summer, while you’ll find fun fishing docks at Sheridan Lake and Horse Thief Lake. If you’re looking to fish close to camp, however, you’re certain to have a fun time fishing in Battle Creek when the water is high!
